HOOTERS Bass Fishing 2008 has been hotter than HOOTERS 911 wing sauce. After our incredible start in Texas, Florida and another blow-out promotion at the BASSMASTERS Classic in South Carolina, HOOTERS Bass Fishing has been fishing, winning, helping charities, working with the BASS youth tournaments and lovin' being sponsored by the best corporation on the face of the planet, HOOTERS of America!

Thanks to all the HOOTERS stores, the managers and all the world-famous HOOTERS Girls who came out to support HOOTERS Bass Fishing on the FWL Tour this year. HBF would like to specially thank the HOOTERS of Lake Norman store. Managers Allen Stirewalt and Dwayne "D" Callahan rolled out the orange carpet for HBF and all the fishermen in town at the the Lake Norman event. The charismatic North Carolina HOOTERS Girls rocked the house at all the promos we did that week.

Scott Boyd, professional photographer and web designer, chaperoned the the trip to North Carolina with HBF. If I could take him with me on every trip, I would. Scott helped with every detail of our endeavor from photos to accomplishing ten times the amount of promo opportunities and Scott is an absolute blast. You rock Scott! Thanks again.

Also, a big thanks to the HOOTERS store of Taylor, Michigan, who supported us at the Detroit River event this year. Matt Rudd, John Sleamon, Deanna Williams and Michelle Winn and those awesome Detroit "Rock City" HOOTERS Girls always makes HBF feel at home in the City of Truth. Thanks to all our fishing buddies who came to the Taylor store every night. Awesome! HBF recorded over thirty-three pounds of smallmouth bass at this event and scored our biggest single-event career win. Thanks for being a huge part of our overall success HOOTERS of Taylor, Michigan. You Rock!

In May, HBF was invited to help benefit the annual United Way Celebrity Bass tournament that raised $23,000 for the Ohio Youngstown/Mahoning Valley United Way. HOOTERS Bass Fishing was teamed up with Youngstown's own Fred Woak. Fred is the radio DJ for 93.3, The Wolf. FM Fred and I headed straight for a ledge out in the lake where we had caught fourteen pounds the year before at the same event, and the bass were there. We had fifteen pounds by 10 a.m.

Our bite was deep, twelve to twenty feet, and it was slow and difficult to tell you had a fish on. The conditions were windy, overcast and post frontal. We only caught about ten or twelve fish all day, but they were the right ones.

Using Carolina rigging and concentrating on two specific ledges and their sweet spots, we stayed with our pattern. If we could keep getting a four-pound or better bite every hour we should easily obtain an over twenty-pound bag. That's just what we did.

Breaking a rod on the last four-pound fish we put in the boat, gave Team HOOTERS a five-fish limit of 21.46 pounds. It was the best bag of largemouth I have personally ever weighed in a tournament, ever! Team HOOTERS took first place honors.

HOOTERS Bass Fishing would like to thank the United Way, all their staff and all the sponsors who contributed to the event. Thanks to my good friend Fred Woak from 93.3 who landed the two biggest bass of his life. I hope Fred enjoyed fishing HOOTERS as much as we did with him.

The full story and more photos of this event are posted here.

HBF and local team partner Scott Baker have been excelling in the USA Bassin team circuit again this year. Team HOOTERS acquired three top-five finishes in our quest for a return to the national USA Bassin Classic. A solid second, third, and fourth-place finishes have locked us in to the regional qualifier. USA Bassin is a great national team trail. Learn more and check out the HOOTERS links at usabassin.com.

HBF has also compiled tenth, eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth-place finishes on the OBFN state trail in four events this year. A consistent top performance in every event, and with one more tournament to fish this year, there is a possibility of making the state team for the third year in a row for HBF, awesome!

Thanks again to the OBFN for the invitation to chaperone the BAS Federation youth tournament at Rocky Fork Lake. Thanks to all the parents and kids for all the fun photos, good stuff. Check it out at ohiobassfederationnation.com

Thanks HOOTERS and all of our wonderful sponsors.

Fish on!
