Anatomy of a Bass Boat

HOOTERS Magazine - Bass Report by Brad D. Wall
Nov/Dec 2005 - Issue 59
Who doesn't love to do a little fishing on the weekends? Jump on the boat and land a few big ones (or at least claim to land a few big ones). But pro bass fishers take our fishing a little more seriously, so we need more serious toys. Here is your guide to one of the most tricked-out boats to ever chase down a largemouth...

The Rig

Boat
  1. Tackle Storage
Not your typical gym locker. This area is used to keep all our artificial bait and hardware (hooks, lures, jigs, worms, etc.) organized and easily accessible.
  2. Cooler
The place to keep the most important equipment on the boat: cold beverages.
  3. Cargo Compartments
The storage compartments we use to stow all the items that only come in handy in an emergency — like a map, fishing license and life jackets.
  4. Rod Storage
The accommodations for fishing rods in Bass Boats are sometimes better than in five-star hotels, with plush carpeting surrounding the interior of the compartments.
  5. Aerated Live Wells
Keeps our catch alive and healthy before the weigh-in.
  6. Driver’s Seat
Typically comparable to your favorite recliner.
  7. Passenger Seat
    Where the HOOTERS Girl sits.
  8. Motor
Separates the men from the boys.
  9. Trolling Motor
This is the smaller motor on the boat used to sneak up on the fishies.
  10. GPS System
So you don’t have to ask for directions.

Fish on!
