2006 Summer Report HOOTERS Magazine - Bass Report by Brad D. Wall July/August 2006 - Issue 63 Since our last update, HOOTERS Bass Fishing has competed in FLW tournaments all over the country, Pickwick Lake in Alabama, Beaver Lake in Arkansas, Lake Lanier in Georgia, Kentucky and Cumberland Lakes in Kentucky, as well as the inaugural HOOTERS Southern Open at Rocky Fork Lake in southern Ohio. Many local HOOTERS restaurants came to support these events. And we can only offer our thanks to these stores, managers and staff for making these events a fun and positive promotional experience for competitive fishing and HOOTERS... The Ohio inner-city schools in conjunction with the Girl Scouts of America have asked HBF to spend a day with these area kids to talk and fish at the C.J. Brown reservoir...
HOOTERS Bass Fishing (HBF) was excited to do a special guest appearance with several beautiful gals from the Cincinnati area HOOTERS stores at Tracy Bird’s Ultimate outdoors show and concert at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. We had such a great response from HBF fans and supporters, signed many autographs and lost track of the number of photos we posed for. HBF spent two weeks full of promotional activities at Kentucky Lake this year, renting a large, warm cabin from Cozy Cove Resort on Kentucky Lake. Big thanks to Cozy Cove for all the hospitality and a beautiful place to stay. Over 25 industry and media friends traveled to fish and spend time with HBF and family. It was a great time. Guests of HBF got to fish and discuss many opportunities for HBF and contributors all in the peaceful setting of the outdoors. Probably the most exciting is another big spin from HBF at the Classic last year. BASS and ESPN came out with the official 2005 Classic video. This video was included in the renewal memberships for the entire BASS organization and its members. This includes a membership of over a half a million subscribers and not to mention the new members that are growing every year! The video features over half-a-dozen cameos of HBF at the classic and several specific mentions to HOOTERS! We would love everybody to see what a great job BASS and ESPN has done with this video and the genuine positive role HOOTERS played in this historic media event. We are very proud at HBF to have gained this exposure and thank BASS and ESPN! The Ohio inner-city schools in conjunction with the Girl Scouts of America have asked HBF to spend a day with these area kids to talk and go fishing at C.J. Brown reservoir. HBF is really looking forward to introducing these kids to all the positives surrounding nature and the outdoors. The annual Hospice charity tournament is coming up soon as well at Indian Lake. There is always a great response to HBF and it is an incredibly worthwhile event! Also on the agenda is the Adopt-a-Bass Tournament on the Ohio River. Proceeds go toward public fish stocking as well as water management efforts! Another wonderful radio interview with Joe Foley on the “Reel in the Outdoors” radio program scheduled for June. Thanks to Mr. Foley who always loves talking to HBF. And last but not least, the Inaugural HOOTERS Southern Qualifier Bass Tournament! The Ohio BASS Federation Nation hosted this regional qualifying event at Rocky Fork Lake in southern Ohio and asked HOOTERS to be the title sponsor. HBF graciously accepted this opportunity. The efforts made by the folks at Ohio Bass Federation were outstanding. HOOTERS web site is now linked to www.ohiobassnation.com home page including information about HBF and all of our local stores and locations. Big thanks to Ohio BASS Federation for all their promotional efforts in return for the support from HBF and local stores! Two days of HOOTERS Girls, big bass and lots of fun at Rocky Fork. Brad Wall finished second overall in this event and contributed his entire winnings, on behalf of HOOTERS and all of HBF contributing sponsors, back to the federation to help support all of the great things that surround what the Federation does for the community. We are looking forward to the upcoming charity events mentioned above, radio shows and several televised FLW tournament events including Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee 5/31-6/3; Lake Champlain, NY 6/21-24; Lake of the Ozarks, MO, 10/1 1-14; and Lewis Smith Lake, Al, 11/15-18. Thanks to all of the contributors of HBF! Fish on! |
